No, she won't be right
So Scott Morrison wants us to be quiet Australians and Sussan Ley wants local councils to stay out of climate action. Well, I cannot be quiet when our planet is burning through human-induced climate change.

I cannot speak for the Federation Council but being one of their ratepayers I wish they would be more proactive in doing something positive in the face of runaway global warming. In the times that we live in it's just not good enough for local councils to concern themselves solely with rubbish collection.
There are 28 local councils around Australia that are taking direct action in the present climate emergency. We have just celebrated 50 years since the first moon landing. In 50 years hence I wonder what this generation will be remembered for? Will it be a hot house Earth where vast areas of inland Australia are too hot and dry for farming and human habitation? I just hope I am wrong but I hope we will not be remembered for the generation that sat on our hands and did practically nothing to avert the climate catastrophe which that generation finds itself in. I, for one, will not remain silent and acquiesce in the 'she will be right' status quo.

Be smarter with super
Superannuation is simply a private old age pension. So why is it not run by the government? There are presently over 500 superannuation funds and 362 of these each have assets exceeding $50 million. How did they manage to accumulate this asset base if not by plundering superannuation payments? Why did governments start this rort and allow it to continue?
If superannuation payments were paid into a government quarantined fund, those payments would be protected from loss and ensure that superannuants received the money they had paid in. Further, such payments would be a pre-payment for old age pensions so that there would be little national liability for retirees in the future. Presently, retirees can spend their entire superannuation and then come back to the government for an old age pension.
Australian government gross debt is now over $530 billion on which the taxpayer pays over $1 billion per month in interest. The private superannuation fund pool is about $2.7 trillion. If a significant portion of this were transferred to the government, the debt could be paid off, the interest bill removed, superannuation funds would be protected and old age pensions could be paid from future superannuation receipts.

So much for safety
Security cameras are a deterrent. If a patient, nurse or doctor is injured, assaulted or traumatised because of this moronic idea to remove security cameras from Nolan House, then I hope they sue Albury Wodonga Health and the board removes the person that ratified this garbage decision. So much for providing a safe work environment.
