Held at Willowbank Albury on the banks of the Murray River, the event presents 12 hours of live music across two stages, plus workshops, markets, circus, children's space and activities, food, coffee and a bar.
An organiser James Eggleston said By The Banks aimed to leave as minimal an ecological footprint as possible and stick to its motto - start small, grow slowly, stay true.
"We feel that we have a good thing going, and the size is perfect for the moment," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Willowbank is a perfect intimate setting where you can hear the music no matter where you're standing and has a nice community feel.
"For the moment we don't want to lose those aspects."
This year will see a bigger area for families and children and a possible open-mic stage in a workshop space.
"This will give more local musicians a chance to perform and support the growing development of live music in our area," he said.
Eggleston's band The Northern Folk will return home for the festival, with other performers including Scott Cook, This Way North, FEELDS, The Maes, Ruby Gill, The Vibraphonic Orkestra, Murray Riverina Jazz Orchestra, Zuckr and Mayfair Lane. Tickets are now available at trybooking.com/bckag.
