10 members from three clubs have been selected to represent Australia in world championships being held in Thailand from August 20 to 25.
The paddlers from the Bravehearts, Warriors and Mt Beauty clubs have been training for the event, which will see 4000 athletes from 30 countries participate.
The event will be a family affair for Dianne Edmondson and her granddaughter Charlotte Jones, who will take part in different divisions in Pattaya.
Charlotte's mother, Kellie, said she expects the competition to be "fierce".
"It's a very high standard on the water," she said.
"It's all very exciting."
