Regular shopper North Albury's Jessica Ceeney and her four-year-old daughter, Isabelle, joined in the festivities, which included giveaways, retailer special offers, a mobile animal farm, face painting, cooking demonstrations and photo displays.
There was a celebratory birthday cake for the occasion for the centre, which was formerly known as Border Shoppingtown when it was officially opened by NSW premier Neville Wran and Albury mayor John Roach.
Lavington Square was sold last year by Vicinity Centres for $52 million, with the new owner being SCA Property Group.
The neighbouring shopping centre anchored by Coles is for sale.
