Nickolic lives on the Border but has spent the past two seasons making the weekly trek to Melbourne to play for Box Hill.
The 22-year-old is set to bolster Albury's top order and is also a more than handy bowler.
Albury co-coach Luke Styles said the signing of Nickolic had capped a productive off-season on the recruiting front.

"I think we will end up with five or six new faces in our senior side," Styles said.
"Blake is a top order batsman, first change bowler and is exceptional in the field.
"He is just sick of travelling and wants to have a year off.
"We were lucky enough to get him.
"He works with one of our committee members and it just sort of snowballed from there."
Albury has been one of the most active clubs over the winter, signing Nick McDonald as co-coach.
It has also landed star duo Kade Brown and Alex Popko.
Former player Ross Dixon has returned and Nathan Smith has crossed from Lavington.
Nickolic, who previously played for Belvoir, is looking forward to once again playing on the Border.
"I wanted to play at the highest standard I could," Nickolic said.
"But I'm a bit sick of the travel."
