After four seasons at the helm with Darrell Spencer and Brad Murray, Henry has declared himself unavailable due to family commitments.
Murray will meet with league officials in coming months but is also likely to step aside.
League general manager Sean Barrett said Henry had done a fine job since taking over from Brendan Fevola in 2016.
"Jon would like to continue but family commitments will take over at that time of the year next year," Barrett said.
"He will be away on a prior engagement.
