The volunteers couldn't believe the "senseless vandalism" which happened overnight Monday and Tuesday and neither could Jeff Prince who rang president Linda Barclay-Hales to offer his support.
"I received quite a few calls from concerned community members who offered their condolences and couldn't believe it and Jeff was the last call I received," Ms Barclay-Hales said.

"He had been following the project and he felt sorry for us and said he would like to help us to rectify the damage and offered a donation of $600.
"We just couldn't believe it. It really has restored our faith in our community."
Ms Barclay-Hales said the association will be getting security cameras to stop the vandalism from continuing to happen.
"We are just working out the costing around it but it is something we have to do now because this just keeps happening," she said.
"And we are working with council and NSW police to try and work out the offenders are who did this."
