Wayne McLean, 51, had returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.155 after the fire on October 24 last year.
Footage from security cameras at the Melrose Drive site showed McLean unsteady on his feet as he removed sheets of tin to access the shed.

Once inside, the Wodonga man set fire to a couch and the structure was badly damaged.
He was arrested soon after the incident, and will next week plead guilty to arson, burglary, drink driving and bail breaches.
Despite being released with conditions about leaving the state, not drinking alcohol outside his home, and not breaching a 10pm curfew, McLean was caught boozing at pubs on three occasions.
His last drink at Albury's Circuit Sports Cafe late last month caught up with him and led to his arrest on Monday.
Footage inside the venue showed the 51-year-old causing a scene, and led to plans to ban him from the venue.
He was also caught drinking at the venue on July 5 and had an incident at the Blazing Stump in March.
Police on Thursday opposed his release in the Wodonga Magistrates Court, given alcohol is behind much of his offending.
Lawyer Diana Price said his latest incident was "completely unpremeditated, unplanned".
McLean was charged with causing $94,557 with the blaze, but the figure is yet to be agreed upon.
Police had initially thought the cost was much higher, but many of the tools and equipment inside was salvageable.
McLean will return to court on Wednesday.
