"Our first quarter against Yarrawonga was some of the most positive footy we've played this year, but the difference between our first quarter and our second was so vast, it's a concern.
"To play one brand of footy and then play a completely different type of footy for the next three-quarters, we've got a lot to iron out in how we want to play and the consistency we're looking for."
Wodonga trailed Yarrawonga by a point at the first break, but then kicked just five goals to 19 in a 95-point caning.
The gap between Wodonga's best and worst is a major factor why the club will have a playoff for the wooden spoon the following week against Corowa-Rutherglen.
But the home club can take heart from Rovers.
The Hawks posted a winless wooden spoon last year, but are now battling Wodonga Raiders for fifth spot.
