The Border motorsport product is holding a fundraiser this weekend to help him reach his destination, with V8 Supercar driver David Reynolds and Albury based racing boss Brad Jones to headline as guest speakers on the night.
Boys said he was thrilled to have Reynolds and Jones on board.
"It was really set up as a good way to get two personalities in Brad Jones and Dave Reynolds in one spot to have a conversation and ask them the right questions in Albury," Boys said.
"It's not really something we've ever been able to do.
"We've just been lucky enough that they were both free and willing to do it."
On top of the Q and A opportunity there will also be an auction and raffle with motorsport memorabilia up for grabs.
ALSO IN SPORT:
Boys has competed in Bathurst for the racing event for the past two years as part of the Super 2 Series, with last year being his first full season.
But Boys said it still feels surreal to take to the famous track.
"For me, it's definitely the most special event for the year," Boys said.
"It's one of those tracks that's kind of terrifying, but everyone always wants to go back.
"It's definitely one to look forward to."
Boys is based in Albury as a mechanic but is part of the Image Racing team based in Gippsland.
Boys admitted he's upped his training in the lead up to the race.
"It's usually starting to get fairly warm around that time of year, especially inside the car," Boys said.
"We'll do some testing in the car and try to make sure we give ourselves the best shot at trying to get up on the podium."
Boys' Bathurst fundraiser will be held Saturday night at Sodens Hotel in Albury.
