Proposed plans to better manage the increasing traffic numbers on the key connector road between central Albury and Thurgoona include removing the roundabout at East Street and replacing it with traffic lights along with Keene Street.
Also under investigation is pedestrian crossings between the health precinct and shopping strip on either side of Borella Road, staged duplication of the corridor from East Street in an easterly direction with roundabouts at Airport Drive, Elizabeth Mitchell Drive, Table Top Road and Kerr Road.

There are no timeframes on the proposals revealed at a council briefing session this week, but another round of community consultation will be late next week.
Also, plans to restrict access from Electra Street onto Borella Road and changes to the service road to the shopping strip have also been raised.
The section between Keene and East streets is a priority for council due to a "history of accidents" in the area.
Another major factor is the continuing development of the Albury hospital site with Albury Wodonga Health well advanced with plans for an expanded emergency department and the eventual relocation of maternity services to the site from Wodonga.
In the short-term, a development application has been lodged for the demolition of the buildings in the south-east corner of the East Street-Borella Road intersection.
The council conducted consultation in February on the future of the Borella Road-Riverina Highway corridor and will host drop-in sessions in the Borella Road shopping area on Thursday and Saturday next week.
The feedback will help shape a strategy for the East Albury area.
"We'll be looking at changes over the long term to improve safety and the delivery of other services to meet growing demand," Albury mayor Kevin Mack said.
"But as we continue this plan, it's important that we continue to get ideas from the community about what's needed so we can investigate the best ways of improving the corridor, including potentially seeking funding to introduce significant changes.
"The section between Keene Street and East Street is a priority because of a history of accidents in the area, plus the need to improve connectivity between the shops and the hospital precinct."
The Thursday drop-in session will be from 3pm to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 1pm.
They will be held near the East Albury IGA supermarket with council staff in attendance.
