Mr Fischer was a man of many achievements, from being named Ambassador to the Holy See to leading the National Party.
But Mr Fischer never forgot where he came from.
He was as passionate about Tumba Trek and future of the Bandits, for whom he was the number one ticket holder, as he was about the international affairs he debated with foreign dignitaries.
Tim Fischer was the boy from Boree Creek, and he never forgot the region he served.
