The 2019 Wodonga District Schools Arts Festival begins on Monday, August 26, at Wodonga Senior Secondary College's Galvin Hall, involving 19 schools and nearly 3000 students until Friday, August 30.
First held in 1976, the festival includes a visual arts display as well as performances of music, dance and plays.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Organising committee member Chantal FitzSimons said the annual event aimed simply to promote the arts.
"Allowing students to value the arts and allowing other people to come in to experience it," she said.
"It's just nice to connect with some other schools and all the students watch the other performances.
"Once they perform they sit in the audience and they're part of it."
Miss FitzSimons said the general public was welcome to attend the concerts.
"Children love a big audience," she said.
"It's nice to have the community involved because we like to have education inclusive of the community."
Concerts are Monday (11.30am, 1.15pm), Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (9.30am, 11.30am, 1.15pm) and Friday (9.30am). Children free, adults $4.
