The win almost saw the Saints ascend to third spot but the Spiders managed to just hang on by percentage.
"We knew it would be a hard game, but the girls have been training really well," Saints coach Tori Ellis said.

"We were able to put four solid quarters together and everyone contributed in their own way."
The Saints were without Molly Smith in the clash but are hoping to have her back for their finals clash against Rand-Walbundrie-Walla next weekend.
Ellis admits it's looking like a tight finals series in the Hume league.
"It's really anyone's game, it just depends on who turns up on the day and is ready to fight," Ellis said.
Lockhart defeated Culcairn, Crows were too good for Henty, Holbrook beat CDHBU, Jindera toppled the Giants and Osborne got up by one against Magpies.
