The Supercars series went to the new track in South Australia for the 10th round of the championship, with the Holden teams looking to stop the dominance of the new Ford Mustang.
However, it wasn't to be, with Mustangs filling five of the weekend's six podium places and series leader Scott McLaughlin increasing his lead to 573 points over fellow Ford driver Chaz Mostert.
Percat has been BJR's standout driver this season, finding a way to get into the top 10 on most occasions, despite some poor qualifying performances.
He started from 19th in Saturday's opening race, but consistently fast laps and good strategy from the BJR garage saw him climb to eighth at the finish.
They worked hard overnight and produced a much better car on Sunday, with Percat qualifying sixth and ending up one spot off the podium.
"I am stoked, that's my best finish this year and we were the lead Holden," Percat said.
"This is a credit to the team and their perseverance. It's been a tough year, but we haven't given up and the hard work paid off on Sunday.
"There is still a lot of racing to go and we need to remain focused on the events ahead."

Percat sits eighth in the championship, and, with five rounds to go, could easily pick up another two or three places before the season ends.
His teammate, Tim Slade, had another shocker, finishing 14th and 12th.
Slade was on track for a top-ten result on Sunday, but an off-track excursion put him on the back foot, with his drive to recover to 12th outstanding.
"A tough weekend for Tim. His times were very competitive on Sunday and for a while it looked like we were on for a very good result for the team," team boss Brad Jones said.
"This place has very little grip and the slightest mistake costs you dearly, as we found out."
Meanwhile, Albury's Dave Reynolds continued his recent run of average performances, finishing seventh on Saturday and 12th on Sunday.
Reynolds' last top-five finish was three rounds' ago in Darwin and the Albury speedster has slipped from third to sixth in the championship.
"The car didn't feel that bad, I didn't feel that bad, but for some reason we just weren't fast," Reynolds said.
"It's possible we misread the track a bit or played with the setup too much.
"We head to Pukekohe now (September 13-15) and I love that track, it's really good fun. I've won a few races there before and been on the podium also."
