From Sunday, the 2019-20 national tour A Farewell To Doris will take in all capital cities before an extensive regional run.
A legend of stage, screen and song, Doris Day died earlier this year, aged 97.
Schneider, who has recorded two albums of Day's songs, co-wrote and starred in a theatre show based on her life and did sell-out tours celebrating her work.
"I was so saddened to hear the news of the passing of the amazing Doris Day," she said.
"Doris was multi-talented, a true triple threat: a world-class singer, dancer and actor. But it is her beautiful spirit that will stay with me. Doris was so likeable and exuded such sincerity and joy and all that is good. There will never be another like her."
A Farewell to Doris will feature the Young At Heart Orchestra and include timeless hits such as Que Sera, Sera, Sentimental Journey and Secret Love plus classic songs from her movies.
MORE ENTERTAINMENT STORIES:
Schneider's love affair with Doris Day started aged eight when she saw Calamity Jane.
"I thought she was the best of everything a woman can be, and when I grew up I wanted to be just like her," Schneider said.
In 2010, Schneider released the acclaimed tribute album Melinda Does Doris - A Tribute To Doris Day, which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Jazz and Blues chart.
The following year, Schneider starred in her own original theatre show, DORIS, Doris Day - So Much More Than The Girl Next Door.
