At least 200 people turned out for The Filby Family Charity Fun Day at Bethanga Golf Club on Father's Day, helping to raise $12,000 for James Filby and his four sons who lost their mum Danelle Filby in tragic circumstances on July 28.
An exhausted but elated Tim Nicholls took to social media afterwards to praise the volunteers, sponsors and guests who hopped, skipped and jumped at the chance to support a cause that has struck close to the community's heart.
Funds raised will "help a young father raise his family".
There is a long road ahead for the family after the loss of their beloved wife and mother, who died suddenly after becoming unwell with "flu-like symptoms".
Mr Filby himself spent three weeks in intensive care at Albury hospital fighting for his life and is facing a long road to recovery.
