The Tigers were playing in their second grand final this decade but proved no match against Thurgoona who ran out commanding 71 point winners.
"Thurgoona are a class above the rest," McNeill said.
"They proved that today.
"We had a crack in the first half and were less than a goal down at the main break.
"But the half time break proved to be our Achilles heel because we had the momentum and it stagnated and the floodgates opened.
"I don't think playing four straight finals was a significant factor - we were just outclassed."

McNeill said the Tigers would come back stronger next season.
"We've got 90 per cent of our list re-signed," he said.
"We will chase a few recruits over the summer and continue to build."
