Vanuatu skipper Andrew Mansale has committed to Eskdale for the 2019-20 season.
The middle order batsman has played nine T20 internationals for his country and will bring a host of experience to the Mountain Men.
Eskdale president Tom Hodgkin said a connection with Sunbury, where club captain Jamie Baude previously played, was a factor in getting Mansale on board.
"They put us onto the CEO of Cricket Vanuatu," Hodgkin said.
"We're hoping he's someone we can build our order around with the batting.
"Obviously, in the past seasons, even when we won a couple of grand finals back-to-back, we bowled really well and managed to keep teams to low scores, but we struggled to put together good scores consistently.

"We're hoping he adds a bit with the bat and from all reports he's a gun fielder, so if we can get him to help with the standard of fielding overall, that's what we're hoping for."
When he's not playing cricket, Mansale lives in Vanuatu and Hodgkin joked the club would have a 'ready-made cricket trip' at season's end.
The good news continues for Eskdale with a pitch upgrade scheduled after Christmas and new training wickets going in prior to the season.
"It's exciting times. If it helps us recruit another player or two locally, that's a bonus," Hodgkin said.
"Potentially the last part of the season is the only time of the year we can get it done, because it's a dual-purpose footy and cricket ground.
"The ground has got to be dry enough to do it, but it can't be done too close to footy because it gets ruined.
"I'm hoping that it would go down and if we were to make finals we'd be able to play on it come finals, but we'll play that all by ear."
Eskdale hosts Corowa in the opening round of the season on October 12.
