Tunzafun had an official day on Saturday despite the new rides being in operation for a few months but volunteer Phil Bott said it is a "step in the right direction" for the volunteer-run park.
"We had about 170 people through the gates on Saturday and although the new rides and extension was a slow process we finally got there and we wanted to have the re-opening to invite all the trades and volunteers and council back," he said.
"We started installation in November last year and the new rides have been enjoyed by kids and their parents for the past few months.
"We had a great participation from the local community and from Melbourne and country areas."
Mr Bott said the "affordable family park" needs to keep growing.

"We need to keep growing it because we are a community based amusement park and in order for us to operate we need volunteers desperately," he said. "We are quite a unique operation in we are not-for-profit and we actually operate for the community with fundraisers as well as entertainment."
Mr Bott said they are in the process of organising a day which hopes to raise $4000 for a Yarrawonga boy who needs a wheelchair.
"We have an application for another young fellow from here and he has a rare disease and he needs a special exercise wheelchair," he said.
For volunteers like Mr Bott it is the "smiling faces" which keep them going. "We are of a certain age group so any more volunteers who would like to get on board would be great," he said.
