Just hours after passing driving the test and putting the P plates on his car the 20-year-old was caught speeding by police and had to hand his licence over.
The man was caught doing more than 40 kilometres over the speed limit on September 25.
Wangaratta Highway Patrol nabbed the man travelling at 142km/h in a 100km/h zone on Greta Road about 11pm.

When police intercepted the Ford sedan the officers discovered the probationary driver had only received his licence earlier that afternoon.
The man was issued an infringement notice for $702.
He will have to wait another six months until he can drive again after being slapped with a loss of licence until January 25, 2020.
