Emergency services were called to the two car collision at Eurobin about 11.20am on Sunday.
An 81-year-old man was stuck inside his vehicle and needed assistance to be removed.
Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said paramedics had initially planned to drive the man to hospital.

But an air ambulance was used to fly the man to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
"It was a two-car accident on the Great Alpine Road at Eurobin," he said.
"There was one patient, a male in his 80s, who was conscious.
"He had no obvious injuries but he had some neck, rib, chest and pelvis soreness."
The man was in a serious but stable condition when he was transported to hospital, about 2pm.
His injuries are considered non-life threatening.
A large number of emergency service workers including police, paramedics, SES volunteers and firefighters attended the incident.
The collision caused a section of the road to be closed.
The man wasn't trapped in the vehicle, but the nature of the crash meant the car had to be cut for paramedics to reach him.
