An elderly man has been left with life-threatening injuries after what police believe was a hit-and-run on a cyclist yesterday.

The 72-year-old Benalla man was riding his bicycle east on Kilfeera Road near the Hume Highway overpass at about 7.45am when investigators believe a car struck the cyclist.
The motorist drove away without stopping and the cyclist was air-lifted to hospital.
Police would like to speak with the driver of a silver Ford Falcon with panel damage to the passenger side.
