A modern interpretation of a timeless design has not only brought a dream to life for its owners, it has also starred at a HIA industry awards event.
B&H Homes won three awards: Custom Built Home $500,001 - $750,000 Overall Kitchen of the Year and New Kitchen up to $30,000 for the Ettamogah Rise build.
This success follows 2018 accolades that included a Victorian State award for best display home plus four regional housing awards.
"It's very gratifying to be rewarded for our collective strive for quality," B&H Homes director Joshua Baker said. "We're an intimate team with a big commitment to building every home the best it can be.
"I love that our trades are recognised for their craftsmanship and our staff duly rewarded for their dedication to delivering for our clients."
The award-winning home was a modern interpretation of timeless architecture. Mr Baker said the success of the home depended on the collective sum of the smallest details, executed with exacting standards.
"Intimate details were respected with time and craftsmanship - 3m and 3.6m-high ceilings, feature brickwork, intricate plasterwork rarely seen today (deep cornice, frieze panels, archways, rosettes), sophisticated joinery. It was a true celebration of quality," he said.
Mr Baker attributed the end result to the seamless partnership with the home's owners Stephen and Catherine Farrell. "We always encourage client collaboration," Mr Baker said. "This award is very much Steve and Catherine's success too." The owners revelled in seeing their vision come to life.
"From planning stages through to handover and beyond, all B&H staff and trades were friendly and professional making it easy to turn our visions into reality," Mr Farrell said.
"It was such an enjoyable experience, nothing was too much trouble. We were able to make changes along the way and valued having access to all areas of the build at any time. We are immensely proud of our home that B&H helped us create."
- Killara Views display is open seven days, at 690 Shaw Street, Springdale Heights, 1pm to 5pm.
