Border bands are standing together for a community event aimed at raising awareness for mental health support.
The You Are Not Alone gig has six bands which will play at the SS&A Club albury on November 30 and hopes to help people struggling with mental health find some support.
"There is a real issue in our community with depression and mental health," organiser Tracey McElwaine told The Border Mail.
"Last year I went through a really hard time and I found it really difficult to find some help.
"There is a price tag on getting mental health support and that is really hard for people who are at their most vulnerable.
"I just thought one day 'what can I do with my connections in music?'
IN OTHER NEWS:
"So I started getting people together who wanted to show their support and we currently have six bands on the line-up which is incredible."
Ms McElwaine, who is apart of the band Caviar Teddy, said the event is being held at The Studio and is free.
"The club have been great in putting it downstairs making it a free event," she said.
"I am also calling on local businesses to donate vouchers or something small for our wellness baskets which will be raffled off on the night. "Whether that is a coffee voucher or $10 off a meal, it all goes a long way in help someone who isn't feeling that great.
"Every little thing helps with someones mental health."
The line-up includes King Jeremy, Pacing the Cage, Caviar Teddy, Tullie and the Arrivals, Society Black and Three Day Reign.
"I am also hoping to get together some information to point people in the right direction for help in our area," Ms McElwaine said.
"It is really confusing and the hardest part is seeking help and putting your hand up and when you do I feel like you just get passed on to the next person.
"That can make really hard to get the help you need. We just want to put our hands up and tell the people of the Border you are not alone and if we support each other maybe we can change the help there is out there."
