The CFA yesterday announced that starting date for the 2019-20 season for Benalla, Moira and Wangaratta council areas.
Acting District 24 operations manager Mark Owens said although a first day had not been declared for his area, he expected it would be in line with the other three councils.
He anticipates it will be confirmed following the return to work of operations manager Adrian Gutsche on Monday and final consultation with councils and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.
Mr Owens said given the looming start any burning off or clean-up work should be done in coming days.
