My husband and I live in NSW where, because of red tape we have no rail trails on any old government rail alignments. I am sure Victorian residents do not realise how fortunate they are to have their huge network of rail trails, and how many people come from other states, particularly NSW to ride these trails.
IN OTHER NEWS:
This is why my husband and I, along with two other people are back down in Victoria for 10 days, that is, just to ride rail trails.
When we heard the opening of the Dry Forest Creek Bridge was to be held on October 13, we made sure we were there for the official opening and for the yearly Tall Trestle Treadle event.
Let's hope the next section to Cudgewa can be completed as soon as possible.
A great effort by all the wonderful volunteers involved in the Rail Trail Project. Also a good story and photographs in your newspaper.

What a great event
In its first year it rivals Floriade already and will only get better. It was full of fun and flare and featured many great displays to inspire more people to enjoy home and gardens. Perhaps surrounding towns could be included with an open garden festival to follow the Gardenesque event.

Pollies can't add up
She makes the point that there are 170,000 jobs "out there". But there are 700,000 people who are unemployed. The wide, sweeping generalisations made about our unemployed by some members of our government and some in media would lead you to suspect that these bludgers are living the good life at the taxpayers' expense.
None of that makes much sense. And 700,000 people into 170,000 jobs, well that doesn't compute either. It worries me greatly that politicians too stupid to do the maths on that very simple equation are in fact in charge of this country, and its economy.
