Rick James Collins, 27, was sentenced this week over the firearm part, along with various drug matters.
Strauss wasn't at the house.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Collins still has outstanding matters set to go to hearing after pleading not guilty, so after he was sentenced he made an application for bail.
But first his lawyer, Mark Cronin, had to show cause as to why Collins' detention was no longer justified due to a change in circumstances.
It was argued that the methamphetamine addiction at the heart of his recent spate of offending had been addressed as he had not used "ice" since going into custody.
Also, his partner had seen the positive impact this had had on Collins who, Mr Cronin said, she needed back home to help with raising their three young children.
But magistrate Rodney Brender said cause had not been shown so Collins would remain in custody, bail refused.
Earlier, he put Collins on a 12-month community corrections order on the charge of acquiring a firearm part while subject to a Firearms Prohibition Order served on him on January 8, 2018.
Police saw the bolt on a lounge room table when they went to his central Albury home on July 6 to search for Strauss.
Collins said Strauss had brought the bolt to his home.
