The 21-year-old has signed with Frankston for the 2020 season following an impressive debut at Ovens and Murray senior level this year.
Young, also a star defender for Albury City in the AWFA, returned to the football field in 2019 and made an instant impact at Bunton Park.
After missing the opening three rounds, Young booted six goals against Corowa-Rutherglen in the reserves to earn a senior call-up against Albury on Anzac Day.
The 21-year-old didn't look back from that point on, turning in four best-on-ground performances for the Hoppers in his 14 games and booting 12 goals, including four against Yarrawonga in round eight.
Young made one appearance for Frankston this year due to Hoppers' coach Isaac Muller's connection with the VFL outfit and they clearly liked what they saw.

"They're not AFL-affiliated and talking to people here, they think that's the best option for me to get game time down there," Young said.
"Isaac (Muller) pretty much set it all up, he's been awesome.
"I didn't even play a full season this year, so this will be my first full season."
Young played junior football at Albury, but stepped away from the sport to pursue soccer at age 15.
The centre back helped Albury City to a top-four finish in the AWFA league season and finished third in their best and fairest and sixth in North Albury's count.
"It all happened pretty quickly," Young said.
"I think six or seven games in, Isaac asked me if I wanted to play a game of VFL and I said 'already?'.
"It helps being tall I guess (laughs).
"I want to go as far as I can. I've always wanted to play at the highest level in sport.
"Obviously the dream would be to get drafted, but I'll take it as it comes and see how I go down there.
"This year was alright, (Albury City coach) Matty Maw let me focus on footy and Isaac did the same if I needed to focus on soccer for a bit.
"It worked alright, but by the end of it my body was starting to say 'probably not any more' (laughs)."
Young is awaiting acceptance to study at Deakin University next year and is set to relocate to Melbourne in January or February.
Frankston is one of five VFL outfits not affiliated with an AFL club.
