An elderly driver and people inside a fabric shop had a lucky escape on Wednesday when a car rammed through the front of a Wangaratta building.

The 81-year-old woman lost control of her Honda Civic in a car park in Maloneys Arcade, off Ford Street, and crashed through the front window of the My Little Patch at about 1.30pm.
The car went into the shop and through the side wall shared with Johansen Insurance Brokers.
It hit a desk belonging to one of the insurance workers, but in a case of good fortune, the woman who usually sits at the desk was on leave.
Wangaratta Highway Patrol Sergeant Michael Connors said four people were in My Little Patch at that time.
Two of those people, plus the driver, were taken to Wangaratta hospital with minor injuries.
One person had been trapped by a table when the car crashed through.
The driver had been trying to veer right down the lane, but continued straight into the shop.

"We'll make investigations whether there's a fault with the vehicle, the driver's recollection is that the accelerator has stuck and she couldn't stop," Sergeant Connors said.
The driver is also expected to have her licence reviewed.
Police, ambulance, firefighters, SES, Wangaratta Council building inspectors and Ausnet were all on the scene.
The smashed front window of the shop had to be completely knocked out before the car could be towed out.
