Rutherglen's two-day total of 37.2mm largely came from an early morning and intense thunderstorm on Sunday which dumped 32mm.
Nearby Corowa had 30.2mm including 23.2mm also on Sunday with the latter total being the highest daily total since 69.2mm fell in early May.
Rutherglen and Corowa both had just 8.8mm for October with the previous lowest October totals being 1mm for Rutherglen and zero for Corowa both in 2006.
Major events in Albury-Wodonga including the professional bull-riding invitational largely escaped the forecast rain with just 14mm falling across the two days.
Culcairn had only 7.2mm for the weekend.
