Yarrawonga's James Elliott has joined Lower Plenty in the Northern Football League's division two.
He didn't play a senior game for Yarrawonga last season after damaging his posterior cruciate ligament and media collateral ligament in his left knee during the pre-season.
It was his third serious knee injury in recent years, adding to a broken arm and battle with chronic fatigue syndrome.
However, the 24-year-old has no intention of retiring.
"No, I love it too much, not yet anyway," he said.
"I haven't even hit my peak yet."
When quizzed about his shocking run last year, Eliott replied, "I'm the most injury-prone person on this planet I reckon."
At 186cms, Elliott relied on his pace as a key defender, giving away size to the likes of star Wangaratta forward Michael Newton.
Elliott played 14 senior games last year.
