Twelve finalists will be selected to attend the awards night in February for it's 25th year.
ALSO IN SPORT:
Lauren Jackson and James Willet are just some of the Border's sporting stars who have received the award.
"We know there are high achievers in our community and we want to recognise those athletes in our local area," Sport Albury-Wodonga president Rob McDonald said.
"I'm sure we will have another group of future champions coming through as the quality of this year's finalists made for a very difficult decision for the committee."
The award targets people between the ages of 16 to 21 for their achievements up until December 31, 2019, with prize money doubled.
Nominations close November 30.
