ORGANISERS of the Strawberry Fields music festival are hopeful the event will return next year despite a drug-related death raising questions about its future.
A spokeswoman described Mr Mcrae's death as the "most tragic we have ever experienced".
"We are yet to fully debrief with all of our stakeholders, that will happen in the coming weeks," she said.
"Strawberry Fields has always put patron safety first, we have run the 2019 event within all guidelines of best practice as we have done every year and we have not breached any of the conditions of our permit.
"We love the community of Tocumwal and we will be working to return in 2020."
Member for Murray Helen Dalton said Strawberry Fields have "run a good festival" and she supports it continuing.
"I know the festival keeps the town going," Mrs Dalton said.
