Burger Urge Wodonga delayed in opening on High Street

Burger Urge was due to open at the corner of High Street and Elgin Boulevard at the end of November, but more than three weeks later the shop still doesn't look close to serving customers.

Owners of the Wodonga franchise Greg and Nicole Dean didn't return calls from The Border Mail this week to confirm when they would be opening but said in September they would be hiring around 30 staff.

The store manager position and other jobs were advertised online at the end of last month.

The shop front has had "opening soon" on the windows since the site was confirmed.

The corner has largely remained vacant since Mann Central shopping centre in Wodonga opened nearly two years ago.

Burger Urge is a largely Brisbane-based restaurant chain with Wodonga to be the southern-most franchise in the country, despite the store location not yet on their website.

In addition to burgers and other food offerings the premises will be fully licensed to sell alcohol.
