England, who plays Conrad Fischer in the Prime7 series Wild Boys, dislocated his knee while shooting a stunt during filming in August.
The former Scots School student, 25, is recuperating on the Border after surgery.
England expects to be fully recovered in about six weeks and said the injury had not tainted the experience of his television debut.
“It was so much fun to be a part of that world,” he said.
“It wasn’t a great thing to hurt myself but I wasn’t terribly annoyed because action sequences are a such a big part of what makes Wild Boys so exciting.
“It was a wild ride the whole way through and I just happened to fall off in the final two weeks.”
England said it was great to work alongside a star-studded cast including Daniel MacPherson, of City Homicide fame, and Zoe Ventoura from Packed to the Rafters.
