It's hard to believe that another year has flown by and what better way to celebrate than backing a winner or two at the Albury Paceway before sitting back and enjoying the fireworks. It looks a tough night to find a winner with most races evenly graded with a lot of the better class horses being saved for Leeton's Carnival of Cups the following night. Settled on one best bet, an each-way play, trifecta and quaddie to try and get a collect.

BEST BET
RACE 3 - BETTATHANAPOKEINDEYE
Will start well into the red but looks to have a cricket pitch up her sleeve compared to her rivals despite the second-row draw. Has had two starts for the Scott stable since arriving from New Zealand for two victories by 15.8m and 5.2m. Has led on both occasions but has tended to switch off in the run and could be better suited driven with a sit. The more you put on - the more you get back. For those who don't like backing short-priced favourites a standout trifecta could be the alternative plan of attack.

EACH-WAY
RACE 4 - WINKN NOD
Winkn Nod gets his chance to break through against some moderate opposition for trainer-driver Damian Wilson who has an uncanny knack of landing a winner when he travels to Albury. Ran third at Shepparton last-start at huge odds and well worth an each-way ticket in this easier affair.
TRIFECTA
RACE TWO
Looks to be a raffle with a field of out-of-form pacers battling it out for a rare win. Taking a flexi trifecta and fingers crossed we can get a result.

QUADDIE
Looks a tough quaddie to jag with a stack of winning hopes in the first three legs. Olympic Gem looks the hardest to beat in the final leg but am also going to include the first starter from the Mal Diebert stable in The Analyzer who could win if it has an ounce of ability.
