Krystal Wilson, whose family still lives in Corryong, has started an individual appeal with the aim of setting up a distribution shop on Friday afternoon, fire conditions permitting.
"I personally know a lot of people who only got out with their clothes on their back," she said.
Now living at Staghorn Flat with her partner Jason Ellingham, Ms Wilson heard about the fires on Monday while on holiday.

"We knew it was pretty bad," she said.
"So we headed home and I basically sat in the car for five hours and made a lot of phone calls."
Through personal contacts and her Facebook post, Ms Wilson has received numerous offers of support from businesses and individuals.
"I originally started with toiletries, but now I'm happy to take anything to give to those who have lost everything," she said.
"My own kids have just cleaned out their rooms and got clothes, books and what they can give."
A hairdresser with access to an empty Corryong shop, Ms Wilson intends to stay a few days and provide free haircuts as part of her appeal.
"I'm just lucky enough to be able to distribute it to those who need it the most," she said.
Donations can be dropped off at the Baranduda store, That Smoothie Place Wodonga and Mainfreight Transport Albury.
Ms Wilson can be contacted via Facebook or on 0427 062 266.
