The recent Ted Ryder Cup prelude winner is quoted as a $31-chance in early markets for the $125,000 Benchmark 64 Hcp, (1600m).
Widdison said it would pay to forgive Wyangle's last-start performance in the Ted Ryder Cup taken out by the Ron Stubbs-trained Spunlago.
"I expect Wyangle to run a competitive race," Widdison said.
"I though it was a terrific win in the Ted Ryder Cup prelude.
"Then he just got too far back in the cup in a slowly run race and was forced to come wide.
"His last couple of sectionals would have been great without ever being a winning hope.
"He has drawn wide at Caulfield but there looks to be some genuine speed in the race.
"So hopefully he can get a nice economical run in behind them and prove competitive."
