A stolen Mitsubishi Pajero was dumped near grass on the side of Sheaters Road in Wodonga early Monday morning.
Firefighters were called to the scene, near the intersection of Goynes Road, about 1.15am.
The blaze, located near a go-kart track, was well alight when fire crews arrived.
They extinguished the blaze but the vehicle and its contents were extensively damaged.
A small amount of brown grass was also burnt, but didn't spread far into nearby paddocks.
