Firefighters were called to Alpine MDF on Crosher lane on Tuesday afternoon.
They remained on site overnight as crews worked to extinguish the fire.
A large fire had been sparked in piles of sawdust and damaged the factory.
The business pulps trees, including from Hancock Plantations, which is turned into MDF board.
Staff at the business were assessing the extent of the damage and how machinery had been impacted.
About 20 firefighters attended the scene at the peak of the blaze.
CFA Commander Paul Horton said an advice warning had been given to the public amid smoke in the area.
"We got the call about 7.09pm on (Tuesday) night," he said.
"It was under control about an hour later.
"The cause is under investigation.

Photographs from the incident appear to show damage to the steel roof of the premises.
The extent of the damage inside the building was unclear.
An aerial fire truck was brought in from Shepparton to assist with the incident.
It was unclear what sparked the blaze.
