A driver with a history of pursuits sped off from police north of Albury at speeds of up to 190km/h, a court has heard.

Police had to abandon the chase, such was the danger posed by Wayne Stephen King's antics.
King was eventually arrested about nine hours later near Dubbo when his car pulled over after another pursuit. This time King, 29, of Tweed Heads, was a passenger.

He has pleaded guilty in Albury Local Court to police pursuit and driving while licence under suspension.
Sentencing was adjourned to January 21, though that will be in Wollongong where he is facing other pursuit charges.
An alert was put over police radio on October 18 about goods being stolen from a Shell service station at Gundagai just after 5pm.
Twenty minutes later, police saw a car traveling south on the Hume Highway at Mullengandra at speeds of at least 130km/h.
Speeds of between 155km/h to 160km/h on back roads and up to 190km/h on the highway at Table Top were reached.
A passenger threw several objects at pursuing police and other motorists, including soft drink cans that exploded on impact.
King remains in jail, bail refused.
