NGV Kids on Tour takes free workshops to the country and about 40 children took part in the 2020 program in Wodonga on Thursday morning.
In past years the NGV Kids on Tour session has taken place at Arts Space Wodonga, which is being redeveloped as part of the $10.2 million library-gallery project.
Instead the session took place at Wodonga Plaza, with participants making their own versions of the characters created by artist Brian Donnelly, known as KAWS, for the NGV's exhibition.
There will be a number of pop-up Arts Space activities happening throughout the year as works at the site continue.
The NGV program was also hosted by the Wangaratta Library this week.
A number of other school holiday activities are taking place in galleries across the region; at the Benalla Art Gallery on Wednesday children can create cardboard shapes to add to Eliza-Jane Gilchrist's installation.
A Summer Reading Club challenge kit is available at Wodonga Library's current home in High Street, and a Dreamtime stories workshop is happening on Monday at the Burraja Cultural Centre.
