New Lavington A-grade coach Catherine Wood is remaining positive ahead of the Ovens and Murray netball season despite the club losing some of it's experienced talent.

With club stalwart Sarah Senini announcing during the week she has joined rivals Yarrawonga this season, Wood said there's an opportunity for new and young players to cement their spot in the team.
"It is what it is, but it's still going to be Lavi," Wood said.

"There's still a lot to offer and the club is always such a brilliant club, so it's going to be there no matter what.
"With people moving away it gives more people an opportunity to cement a spot in a higher grade or even opportunities for people from other clubs to step in where there hasn't been an opportunity before."
Lavington start trials on Tuesday, January 21 with three more sessions to follow.
