The home team moved nine points clear of seventh-placed Belvoir following the victory and can virtually seal a spot with a double-header against New City this weekend.
Kade Brown was the matchwinner.
On a tough batting wicket, Brown dug deep to make 67 out of a score of 9-195 with the former skipper bombing four sixes.
"It was a difficult wicket to bat on and 'Pup' (Brown) really dug in," coach Luke Styles said.
"His 67 was more like 120 or 130.
"We were hoping to get around 150 at the start of the innings so we were fairly confident after putting 195 on the board."
Daniel Cassidy, Alex Popko and Louis Botes chipped in with handy scores while young quick Will Keighran grabbed 3-35 for St Patrick's.
It soon became evident it was going to be Albury's day.
Matt Crawshaw and Mitch O'Brien fell cheaply and, when Popko held on to a catch from Luke Restall with minimal use of his hands, the writing was on the wall.
"He was at mid-on and the ball was smoked at him," Styles said.
"It was more of a cuddle than a catch.
"It pretty much got caught in his body after he rolled around."
Spinner Ross Dixon continued his fine form with the ball since Christmas by grabbing 5-22.
He also ran out Angus Kilby with a superb direct hit from gully.
"When you make around 200 it's hard to chase down and we have been making those scores consistently lately," Styles said.
"We have a more settled side now as well which helps."
Wodonga saw off a late surge to defeat East Albury by eight runs at Les Cheesley Oval.
After making 8-197, the Bulldogs had their opponents in trouble at 6-109 before Brent de Vries (47) and Miles Hemann-Petersen (27) added vital runs down the order to give the visitors a sniff.
Paceman Cameron Suidgeest continued his good run by taking another four wickets.
Tallangatta defeated New City by eight wickets thanks to a superb 100-run partnership between imports Matt Oswell and Sahib Malhotra.
North Albury returned to form with victory over Belvoir with Tim Hartshorn making 101 off 112 deliveries.
Brad Purtell then grabbed 6-28 with the ball to ice the win.
Lavington accounted for Wodonga Raiders.
