For local artist Kade Fielder, it was the least he could do for someone he refers to as his "idol".
"He has been a big part of my life for 20 years, at a young age he was only one of two players I really looked up to whilst playing basketball," he said.
"On and off the court he is one of the greatest minds that we have ever seen when it came to being a true champion and competitor.

"The dedication and hard work ethic he had was like no one other."
Bryant died in a helicopter crash along with eight others including his daughter Gianna.
"It hit me hard to lose an idol like that so I'm glad there was some way I could commemorate him and his life," Fielder said.
"I chose the image because it's a humble photo but also represents his Mamba mentality."
The mural is down the driveway next to GT Aquatics on Wagga Road, Lavington.
