The Hoppers are playing their best cricket of the season after a sluggish start to the home and away series and Simmons is hoping the heat rule doesn't come in to play.
"Hopefully we get a game in," Simmons said.
"We've got a bit of momentum going at the moment so it would be good to build on that."
Walla has climbed to third spot on a log-jammed ladder with four rounds remaining and take on Brock-Burrum, Rand, Lockhart and Henty in the run to the finals.
Simmons wants to finish as high as possible.
"It's a very even competition so any advantage you can gain is going to be important," he said.
Walla look more of a premiership contender this season than last with the McCarthy brothers - Dan, Kieran and Jamie - adding depth.
Chris Hutchinson is enjoying a fine season with the bat which has eased the pressure on Simmons to make runs.
Simmons said Brock-Burrum would be difficult to beat after upsetting Walbundrie last round.
"They are very dangerous," he said.
"We will need to be switched on."
In other matches, Lockhart host Walbundrie, TRYC take on Culcairn, Holbrook do battle with an in-form Henty and Osborne and Rand clash in the match of the round.
The ladder is: Rand 54, TRYC 42, Walla 42, Osborne 42, Henty 36, Walbundrie 36, Lockhart 33, Brock-Burrum 21, Holbrook 12, Culcairn 12.
