Every year Muggles don costumes to celebrate the popular franchise and its characters, bringing Hogwarts to life.
Children and youth services library officer Tracy Peters said about 40 people took part in games and activities provided by publisher Bloomsbury.
"We missed it last year, but we try to do it annually," she said.
"This year's theme was the Triwizard Tournament, so we had games adapted from the tournament itself, and past themes have been things like 'professors of Hogwarts'.
"People really like to dress up and enjoy engaging."
Ms Peters said Harry Potter was still hugely popular, 22 years since the first fantasy novel was published, and that recent film and play adaptions like Harry Potter and the Cursed Child revamped interest.

"The really die-hard fans have got the screenplay [of The Cursed Child] and have read it," she said.
"Many have decided if they like it or not, but movies like Fantastic Beasts have really kept the whole thing alive.
"We have really little kids right through to grown-up ones at our book night.
"I really enjoy the friendship between Ron, Harry and Hermione; that's the thing that appeals to me the most."
