The pilot managed to land the plane off to the side of the main runway around 9.45am.
Yarrawonga police Leading Senior Constable Russell Welsh said the man was not injured in the incident.
"The plane went off to the left of the runway," he said.
"The ambulance crews weren't required but the plane did sustain some damage to the propeller."
CFA, SES, paramedics and police were on scene for around an hour and was declared safe.
UPDATE: The plane crash at Yarrawonga has been marked as safe.
Emergency services are still on scene on Cahills Road.
It isn't known what caused the crash.
Ambulance Victoria said paramedics did not treat any patients.
The small aircraft came to a stop on the grassed area next to the main runway.
EARLIER: Emergency services are on the scene of a suspected plane crash in Yarrawonga.
Yarrawonga police confirmed members were called to the airfield on Cahills Road around 9.45am but could not confirm any other details.
