Border tennis product Sam Groth is urging locals to explore their "own backyard" and help out fire-affected North East towns.
The television personality visited Bright recently for this week's episode of Nine's travel show Postcards and said although it has "changed a lot" since he was last there as a kid, the impact on businesses "is very real".
"The general feeling is that they just want people to come back, to come enjoy their businesses which they have put so much work into," he told The Border Mail.
"There is a lot of misconception out there and a few of the businesses are still getting calls to cancel bookings because of the fires.

"We just need to get it out there that towns like Bright, Myrtleford, Beechworth and surrounds are open for business."
Groth visits two local eateries, speaking to locals and business owners about what the town has to offer, and finishes at the Bright Brewery.
"It was really nice to finally go there," Groth said.
"You don't need to venture that far to find an area that has a lot to offer."
Postcards airs on Nine at 5.30pm on Sunday.
